Stock ref: DS1258
Circa 1960
A superb vintage dowel topped Mouseman 6′ oak refectory dining table. Privately acquired from the original owners family and clearly well looked after all its life, it has nevertheless been cleaned and re-finished to the highest standard
following discussions with clients and presents with a wonderful depth of colour and patina. The three plank top is in superb condition free from any staining or joint splitting to the old and characterful fox tongue dowel joints. This jointing
method was used by Thompson’s up until 1971 and earlier tables in good condition featuring these joints are now highly sought after. A large and prominent mouse is carved in high relief to one of the baluster legs.
Size: 183(w) x 87.5(d) x 73.5(h)
Please see stock ref: DS1227 for details of the Mouseman lattice backed dining chairs shown in the photographs.
Sold
Jan 2014. This 6′ table was sold to clients prior to going on puplic sale. I have also recently secured a 1940’s 5′ dowel topped refectory dining table from the same former owners, reputedly purchased by them from Ampleforth College in the
early 1960s. It is completely sound and awaiting cleaning and re-finishing. I will be pleased to discuss with prospective purchasers.
