Circa mid 1960s
A vintage leather upholstered Mouseman dressing stool, standing on four carved faceted baluster legs joinded by stretchers, a trademark mouse carved in high relief to one of the legs. The oak frame presents in excellent condition with a warm naturally aged honey colour. The original leather hide is in excellent useable condition after a clean and condition, although the inner foam has recently been replaced with a modern fire safety standard upholstery foam, as the original dunlopillo foam pad had typically hardend with age and was disintegrating into a fine powder. New upholstery studding has also been used. This stool currently costs £835 to buy new from Robert Thompson’s.
