Stock ref: DS1312
Circa 1950s
Certainly very rare and quite possibly a unique burr oak square Robert Thompson ‘Mouseman’ planter, being offered for sale on behalf of the local family whose parents are known to have owned it from new. Superbly constructed from substantial 1 1/4″
thick burr oak timbers on all four sides and handcrafted in true Arts and Crafts style, sitting on 2 sledge feet with a very distictive and finely carved mouse incised to the front facing side panel . It weighs 9kg and will accomodate a large 10″
diameter pot making it ideal for showcasing specimen plants in the home. The exterior presents in superb condition and there is no evidence of damage or previous repair. The interior is very clean and as expected the base shows evidence of
past usage as intended as a planter.
Size: 37(w) x 37(d) x 30.5(h)cm.
