Circa mid 1970s
A wonderful example of a Sid Pollard leather seated stool. The original red leather remains in lovely aged condition and is held in place by brass studding. Four turned carved legs are joined by stretchers, all sound and tight, the framework
cleaned in re-waxed in our workshop. Made for former Bagby residents who knew Sid personally and in their ownership from new. As is typical of his work it is unmarked, he always preferred to let his craftsmanship speak for itself. One of Robert
Thompson’s early trained craftsmen his carving and carpentry skill is distinctive to those who know and appreciate his work.
From the same ownership as the Sid Pollard letter rack (see DS1335)
