A unique opportunity for collectors and admirers of his work to own Stanley’s personal nameplate, handmade by himself for use  within his showroom and office when he started his business on New Road, Windermere in 1923.  Handcrafted from solid english walnut and of triangular section with carved and gilded lettering. It remains in excellent original condition.

Excellent provenance, the piece remained in Stanley’s personal possession at Gatesbield up to his death and was bequeathed in his will to his niece Cindy Vardy. It remained in her possession until she retired into one of the Gatesbield Quaker Housing Asscociation appartments which now occupy the Gatesbield site, when it was acquired  by a close family friend and hence into our ownership.
