Circa 1950s/60s

An unusual bespoke coffee table from Thomas ‘Gnomeman’ Whittaker of Littlebeck. Adzed all over, it stands on sledge feet joined by a central stretcher with panelled sides joined to four legs, with a dowel pinned table top. The side panels are each carved centrally with a tudor rose. A signature gnone is carved to the corner of one leg. In original unrestored condition with some minor marking to the top and a natural split in one of the feet.
