Circa mid / late 1960s

A superb 3’7″ long refectory style coffee table from Thomas Whittaker the Gnomeman of Littlebeck, near Whitby. Of typical rustic adzed all over form, the top sitting on carved and waisted sides joined by an adzed undershelf  which are double pegged at each end. Thomas’s trademark gnome is carved prominently to the lower corner of one leg. Local County Durham original ownership.

It presents in excellent cleaned and waxed condition free from any significant staining in its original golden oak colour.
