Stock ref: DS1620
Circa 1980
An excellent example of a 2’6″(w) x 2’6″(h) oak Chest of Drawers from former Robert Thompson’s craftsman Sid pollard with a 2 short over 3 long drawer arrangement. Panelled and adzed to all visible surfaces in line with early mouseman craftsmanship, standing on four octagonally carved legs and with traditional wrought iron fittings. The upper drawers are 10.3cm deep, the lower 11.4cm. As is typical of Sid’s work it is unsigned, he preferred to let his craftsmanship speak for itself. Excellent condition with a golden oak colour.
Privately sourced from a former family friend of Sid’s, from whom we’ve sourced a number of pieces in the past.
We have also secured a number of other pieces of Sid’s work which will be on sale shortly, including a 7′ Table with 8 or 10 chairs and a Display Cabinet.
