Stock ref: DS1546
Circa early 1950s
A superb earlier made ocagonal Coffee Table from the Kilburn workshops of Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson. Features an excellent quarter sawn single plank adzed top with wonderful medullary ray graining, standing on adzed pedestal legs, as only found on earlier made examples of these highly popular tables, and crossed sledge feet. A particularly large and ‘well fed’ mouse is carved in high relief to one leg. Superb rich colour and waxed condition, free from staining, just some minor nicks to the body of the mouse carving, thought to be cat/dog bites. Privately acquired locally from the original owners family.
