Circa 1960s

An excellent example of the earlier made Book Trough from the Kilburn workshops of Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson. Adzed to all visible areas, whereas mid/late 70s onwards  book troughs have only been adzed to the outer sides.
Features an up facing carved mouse, rarer to find on book troughs as they are harder to carve against the grain. Cleaned and rewaxed in our workshop it presents in superb condition with wonderful graining to the oak and a rich medium fumed oak colour, with no losses or repairs.
