Stock ref: DS1725
Circa 1930s
A superb and rare early Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson Oak Swing Mirror. Shaped cruciform constructed sides with D shaped ring cups to the tops, joined by a bottom rail and the centrally placed oak framed and backed tilting mirror. A large finely detailed mouse is beautifully carved prominently to the front facing lower cruciform leg. The piece is adzed all over, in line with early craftsmanship.
It presents in stunning condition, colour and aged patina following a careful sympathetic clean and rewax, the only evidence of previous repair being a small filled splinter chip to the mirror frame, shown in the image gallery below.
It would make an ideal accompanyment to the early Chest of Drawers DS1722, or a Dressing Table / Desk DS1721 which is currently being prepared for sale.
