Stock ref: DS1741
Circa late 1940s/50s
A very rare find, a bespoke commissioned pair of Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson Oak Bookends featuring intricately carved monks heads, one with a mouse carved to the side of the face, looking as though it’s brought a rye smile to the monks face. Very dry and dull on acquisition they have cleaned and wax polished beautifully with a wonderful depth of colour and patina. Believed to have been bespoke made originally for an Archdeacon and discovered amongst the contents of a house clearance in Woodbridge, Suffolk.
Size: 10(w) x 10(d) x 14.5(h)cm each.
