Stock ref: DS1849
Circa 1950
A stunning example of an earlier made Octagonal Oak Coffee Table from the Kilburn workshops of Robert Mouseman Thompson with particularly fine figuring to the adzed top and the use of some burr oak on the adzed pedestal leg. Beatiful rich patina and colour with a fine mouse carved to one facet of the pedestal leg.
Purchased privately from the original owners family it is known to have been originally presented as a retirement gift in 1950 to Major Shaw, who worked as the Land Agent at Welburn House in Ryedale, North Yorkshire.
