‘Mouseman’ Robert Thompson Rare Walking Stick

Stock ref: DS2147

Circa 1940s

A very rare opportunity to purchase a Robert Thompson ‘Mouseman’ Walking Stick with his signature mouse carved prominantly to the corner of the handle and shaft.  Superb condition, privately bought  from the original owners family.  It was bespoke made for the previous owners grandfather who died in 1952.  These walking sticks are extremely rare, we are only aware of two ever coming to market and we’ve had them both. This is the more usable of the two, in excellent condition, straight and brass tipped. We’ve no doubt it will be the subject of endless conversations with passers by if used regularly. Robert Thompson’s Craftsmen Ltd have previously advised us that a small number where made to bespoke request  in the 1930s/40s, usually for local family friends and acquaintances known to Robert or his craftsmen.

Please contact us if you wish to view it, it’s not on display at our Preston  Antique Centre showroom as it’s too tempting for opportunistic thieves to steal and walk out with un-noticed.

Size: 91(l) x 12.5(handle)cm, 36″ (l) x 5″ (handle)ins
