An excellent 2’6″ wide solid oak Chest of 3 Drawers by the ex mouseman craftsman Malcolm ‘Foxman’ Pipes. Panelled, pinned and adzed to all visible surfaces with rose carved drawer knobs. Malcolm’s signature fox mask carving to the upper left of the chest.
Excellent condition with clean inner drawers which have been protected with lining paper. Gently cleaned and waxed with a warm medium fumed colour.
Malcolm is a former ‘Mouseman’ craftsman who trained in the early 1960s and left in 1981 to set up his own workshop in Carlton Husthwaite. He is the second ex mouseman craftsman to adopt a fox as his signature, the earlier craftsman being Don Craven who was active in the 60s and 70s. Malcolm has now retired and closed his business.
