Brian Haw, ex ‘Mouseman’ Yorkshire Oak Long Case Clock

Circa 1970s

An imposing 8 day long cased Yorkshire Oak clock with brass dial and German twin weight driven striking movement, as used in the 60s/70s by Robert Thompson’s Sid Pollard and other Yorkshire craftsmen. Oak panelled detailing and a carved Yorkshire rose  to the lower front panel. Wonderful rich medium oak colour to the case.

The movement  and weights cleaned and serviced by our Horologist, the case cleaned and re-waxed in our workshop.

Made by ex mouseman craftsman Brian Haw whilst working with Sid Pollard, for his own personal family use and comes to market from his family estate, together with other personal pieces. The Haw family had a 90 year unbroken  connection to Robert Thompson’s with Brian’s father Len Haw starting work in 1920 as one of Robert’s very eariest craftsmen. Brian and his brother John followed him into Robert Thompson’s on leaving school in 1960. John Haw retired in 2010 after 50 years service, Brian left in 1970 and worked with Sid Pollard prior to his death.
