Stock ref: DS2351
Circa 1930s
An excellent example of the extremely popular earlier made 9 1/2″ diameter solid oak Fruitbowl by Robert Thompson, the ‘Mouseman’ of Kilburn. Tooled all over with a typically very early slim mouse carved to the exterior side of the bowl. From about 1960 the bowls have been larger but shallower, and the mice have been carved to the centre of the bowl.
Excellent overall condition and rich darker fumed and aged colour with no wood splits or repairs. There is some typical wear to the ears of the mouse carving and a little minor uneveness around part of the rim.
Size: 24(dia) x 6.5(h)cm
