Circa 1960s

A superb example of the  Robert ‘ Mouseman’ Thompson solid oak Cheeseboard made in the 1960s, shortly after the mouse carving was moved onto the bridge between the handle and board, to strenthen  the handle which was prone to breakage on earlier examples. 

Excellent rich deep colour and condition with no evidence of knife cuts to the board as is usually seen on examples that have been used as intended. A wonderfully detailed mouse caving.
