Circa 1940s

Beautifully coloured and patinated earlier made  solid oak Cheese Board by Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson with a signature  mouse carved to the board and the narrower handle. These early slim handles were prone to breakage so in about 1960 it was decided to strengthen this area by moving the mouse carving to the handle.

Rich depth of darker fumed and waxed colour.
