A beautiful bespoke made  burr oak  14 1/2″ square Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson Planter  which also makes an ideal magazine or log storage box. Superbly constructed from substantial 1 1/4″ thick burr oak timbers on all four sides and handcrafted in true Arts and Crafts style, sitting on 2 sledge feet with a very distictive and finely carved mouse incised in low relief to the front facing side panel . It weighs  a substantial 9kg and  will accomodate a large  10″ diameter pot making it ideal for showcasing specimen plants in the home. The exterior presents in superb condition and there is no evidence of damage or previous repair. The interior is very clean and  as expected the base shows evidence of past usage as a planter, as originally intended.

Originally bought by us in 2014, directly from the original owners family in Darlington and an opportunity to buy it back again privately from a leading collector was too good to miss.
