Circa 1950s /early 60s

A superbly coloured and patinated  example of the rare to market earlier made Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson oak bedside bookcase / cabinet. Unlike more modern made examples  it is adzed to the sides as well as the top with a very finely carved mouse with front paws incised into the lower side panel. Two adjustable shelves with a full compliment of shelf supports. Wonderful condition and deep rich colour. There is a natural age related shrinkage split to the single plank back panel, although it does not extend the whole length of the panel. Shown in the image gallery below.
