A typically unmarked piece but a known design, often described as copper, but more likely to be bronze (copper/tin alloy). Hand hammered, square form with a hinged lid, featuring finely executed laurel leaf and ribbon silver wire decoration and silver rosettes.
Excellent condition, heavy quality, no dents or scratches, hinge fully intact and working.

Albert Edward Jones is a very highly regarded Birmingham designer and maker of Arts and Crafts silver & metalware. He worked at the Birmingham Guild of Handicrafts before establishing his own business in 1902
