Rare solid mahogany table lamp from Alan ‘Acornman’ Grainger at Acorn Industries. Alan and Bob Hunter the ‘Wrenman’ are amongst the few Yorksire makers who have offered items in other solid hardwoods, alongside the oak ranges for which they are
better known. Octagonal base faced to the underside with leather and featuring the trademark incised carved acorn with a octagonal stem featuring inlays to alternate facets. In lovely condition and working order.
Part of a range of mahogany acornman pieces acquired from a private estate near York, the original invoice confirming it was purchased new on 5/5/82.
Handmade to the same exacting standards as the oak ranges. Originally costing about the same prices as the equivalent oak items the mahogany pieces now represent great value compared to the currently more fashionable oak pieces.
Size: 13.7(dia) x 28(h) excl brass bulb fitting.
