A unique beautifully carved and tooled  vintage Yorkshire School oakleaf pin dish. The craftsman remains unknown but the quality  of the workmanship would suggest it has been made by one of the Mouseman trained craftsmen, most likely as a personal
out of hours piece. Locally sourced it is carved from a single block of oak and presents without any damage or losses in a  naturally rich nutty brown colour and patina which suggests it has a good age to it, believed to be 1950s/60s.

A superb and highly colectable vintage Mouseman double pin dish. Dark fumed from new it presents in excellent waxed condition with a warm aged nutty brown colour with a very large high backed mouse with  a particularly fine set of carved whiskers.

Owing to its collectability this item has been faked over the years and a number do come up for sale quite regularly on various auction sites, usually quite crudely carved and often lacking any carved moulding around the sides.

A superb vintage  dowel topped Mouseman 6′ oak refectory dining table. Privately acquired  from the original owners family and clearly well looked after  all its life, it has nevertheless been cleaned and re-finished to the highest standard
following discussions with clients and presents with a wonderful depth of colour and patina. The  three plank top is in superb condition free from any staining or joint splitting to the old and characterful fox tongue dowel joints. This jointing
method was used by Thompson’s up until 1971 and earlier tables in good condition featuring these joints  are now highly sought after. A large and prominent mouse is carved in high relief to one of the baluster legs.

Jan 2014. This  6′ table was sold to clients prior to going on puplic sale. I have also recently secured a  1940’s 5′ dowel topped refectory dining table from the same former owners, reputedly purchased by them from Ampleforth College in the
early 1960s. It is completely sound and awaiting cleaning and re-finishing. I will be pleased to discuss with prospective purchasers.

A Mouseman sideboard in excellent condition, handcrafted from English oak using traditional tools and techniques, including adzing  to the top, frame and drawer fronts in line with early  Robert Thompson’s production. Modern made sideboards
are only adzed to the top.

Featuring a rectangular top with canted corners and a low back rail, over a pair of panelled storage cupboards each with an inner shlef, fitted with wrought iron latches and hinges. These are divided by a central bank of three graduated drawers fitted
with turned handles, the top one of which is divided and baize lined for cutlery. The sides and rear are as well panelled and finished as the front. A signature mouse is carved in high relief to the front right leg.

I only ever buy the very best examples and this piece presents in superb original condition and has been carefully used all its life, demonstated by the lack of any ring marks or staining,  the deep wax polished colour  and original clean interior.
It also presents with the original order correspondence and invoice from Robert Thompson’s.
