Superb quality 6″ diameter turned Walnut Pedestal Bowl  by luxury furniture maker David Linley. Excellent condition, stamped Linley to the base. Sourced from a property in Harrogate, together with a number of other Linley pieces.

One of two we have in this design.

Known professionally as David Linley, David is probably better known to the public as the Earl of Snowdon, the son of Princess Margaret and Anthony – Armstrong Jones (Lord Snowdon), and the nephew of the Queen.

David trained  under John Makepeace  on leaving school and, naturally talented, he established Linley Furniture in 1985, producing the highest quality furniture  and bespoke installations for the high end luxury market. The business continues to trade nationally and internationally today. Whilst his HQ is in London, what is less well known is that his production workshop  is on the outskirts of Whitby, North Yorkshire, now operated  and owned by his long time associate  and friend Mark Asplin Whiteley. David has for many years  admired and been appreciative of the skill set in the area and all the ‘Yorkshire Critters’ workshops based in North Yorkshire.

Circa 1970s

An excellent large solid oak  Sewing / Craft / General Storage Cabinet from the talented ex Mouseman craftsman Albert ‘Eagleman’ Jeffray. Adzed to all front/side facing surfaces  and panelled all over, with a flip lid top and two storage drawaers below, standing on four octagonally carved legs. Alberts signature eagle is incised in  his typical manner to a side frame.

There is a further slide out section under the top lid which also has a hinged / flip section on it. We have to admit defeat in establishing just what it is for or how it was intended to function, but it looks to be complete without anything missing. Maybe someone  who views it at our showroom will be able to enlighten us,  sadly Albert and the original owner who commissioned it are no longer with us.

Superbly made and in excellent original condition, medium fumed and waxed.
