Circa 1950s / early 60s

An excellent example of a Thomas ‘Gnomeman’Whittaker circular coffee table  with adzed table top and attractive inset guilloche circular banding, standing on three carved legs into one of which has been carved a large signature gnome. Sympathetically cleaned, refurbished and waxed in our workshops it presents with a rich darker oak colour and in excellent solid condition.

Circa 1960s

A   beautiful richly coloured example of the popular solid oak Octagonal Coffee Table by Robert Thompson the ‘Mouseman’ of Kilburn. A twin plank adzed top is supported on a cruciform pedestal base with crossed sledge feet, a wonderfully fine carved mouse sits prominently on one of the legs. Excellent structural condition, rich warm toned colour, wax finished.

A unique opportunity to own a bespoke commissioned solid English oak Towel Rail by Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson. Of traditional design  with chamfer detailing the open ends supporting a top rail and four lower rails. standing on sledge feet. A well carved signature mouse sits prominently on the top arched end.

Circa 1960s/ early 70s

Rare to the market  and in superb condition this Wilf ‘Squirrelman’ Hutchinson  oak Hall Table with a removable leather seat pad. Features an adzed top, two open storage shelves, fully panelled sides and back and stands on four square legs joined with a central stretcher. Wilf’s trademark squirrel is carved in low relief onto the bottom cross rail. The top rear rail also features a prominemt removable carved squirrel.

It presents in superb condition with a wonderful deep colour and patina, all the joints are sound and there is no damage or any significant staining. The original beige leather is also in very good condition confirming it has been carefully looked after since purchase.

Previously sold by us back in 2013, recently bought back following the owners decease.

Circa 1940s

A wonderful example of an early burr oak Octagonal Coffee table from the workshop of Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson of Kilburn. Features a  characterful single plank burred oak octagonal top supported on cruciform pedestal legs and crossed sledge feet.. A large signature mouse is carved prominently to one leg. It now presents in excellent condition with a deep rich colour, we’ve carefully cleaned, sealed and re-waxed it and filled a small area of sap wood on the underside edge which had evidence of  old wood worm.

Circa 1940s

An excellent example of an earlier made  Mouseman 3′ Single Bed with panelled head and footboards and  the earlier adzed panelling and framework, some panels with attractive burred oak. Complete with  it’s original Vono metal  side irons  and a modern base board. The mattress is also available free of charge if you wish to use it. Easily dismantled for transport,  the side irons are secured in place with 4 bolts at each  corner.

Wonderful condition and patinated colour. Great value  compared to the current new price of £ 2,480.

Circa late 1980s

Lovely letter rack by  the ex Mouseman craftsman David Langstaff who set up  independently in Easingwold in 1986 but is no longer working. Adzed and handcrafted  from a single block of  high quality quater sawn oak  which highlights the golden medullary rays in the oak with adzing all over except the base. His trademark oakleaf is carved in relief to the  front. In original condition with no damage or water splashing and a lovely warm mellow honey colour.

Originally sold by us back in 2013 and recently bought back following family bereavement.

Circa 1970s

An excellent example of the popular Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson Oak Wall Clock.  Features an octagonally carved base  with signature carved mouse and  the earlier now rare to find  numbered instead of roman numeral  dial, and the shallower depth  brass surround. Fully working, keeping excellent time, fitted with a modern quartz battery movement.
