An excellent example of the popular 18″ tall Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson Oak Cow  Stool with a tradional  kidney shaped seat supported on three octagonally carved and tapered legs which are wedge jointed through the seat. A  trademark mouse signature carved prominently to the centre edge of the seat.

Excellent condition with tight legs joints, clear wax finished  following a light clean to remove minor spalsh marking.

Circa 1950s

A wonderfully coloured  and patinated example of the sought after and rare to market earlier made  2’9″ wide and 4′ tall  Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson Oak Bookcase. Adzed to the side frames, upper shelf and, unusually for these bookcases, to the inside rear panelling. Four adjustable shelves.

Circa 1930s/40s

An excellent example of an early Mouseman 3′ Single Bed with panelled head and footboards and  the earlier adzed panelling and framework. Complete with  it’s original Vono metal  side irons which are ready to accept a standard single sized base  and mattress. Easily dismantled for transport,  the side irons are secured in place with 4 bolts at each  corner.

Excellent condition and patinated colour. Great value  compared to the current new price of £ 2,480.

An excellent example of a solid oak  Book Trough made by the former mouseman craftsman Peter ‘Rabbitman’ Heap of Wetwang, near Driffield with his signature carved rabbit carved prominently to the lop left side panel. Finished in a lighter fumed  clear wax polish.

Rarer to the market than the equivalent mouseman item.

Circa 1900

An impressive 18″ tall Art Nouveau Silver Plated Pewter  Vase designed by J.R. Hennig for F. X. Dautzenberg, Germany. Twin handled and repousse decorated with long stalked flowers and typical period whiplash  decoration, standing on a circular foot. Signed  prominently J.R. Hennig to the lower section of the vase.

Excellent original condition with no losses or evidence of repair, minor rubbing  and tarnish of the silver plated finish.

Circa 1980s

A lovely example of a Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson Oak Small Chopping Board or Tea Pot Stand, and an affordable  item to get started as a collector of vintage  ‘Mouseman’. Octagonal base with a signature mouse carved to one sloped edge.

Purchased privately from the original owner, who although used the item as a small cutting board, ensured they used the underside for this purpose, ensuring the topside has remained  in excellent condition. Waxed in more recent years and used for display.

An excellent Art Nouveau WMF Silver Plated Trophy Vase, the tapering vase repousse with whiplash decoration, mounted with flower heads on a trefoil stem leading down to a circular domed foot which is marked WMF I/0.

Circa 1960s/70s

An unusual and  wonderful example of a Candelabra from the Husthwaite workshop of the Mouseman trained craftsman Wilf ‘Squirrelman’ Hutchinson. Hand carved from a solid block of english oak it stands on a large square base, carved leaf forms to the corners  rise  to form a central  octagonally carved and tapering stem. Towatds the top the stem  splits to form three branches on which sit traditional wrought iron candle sconces. Wilf’s trademark squirrel is carved sitting prominently to the lower front of the piece which presents in excellent condition  and colour following a clean and wax, the only evidence of prior usage being some small minor knocks to the central stem.

Wilf is sadly no longer with us but the business remains in the capable hands of his son Trevor.

Circa  1940s/50s

An excellent pair of earlier made 8″ oak candlesticks from Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson, of square based form with a central octagonally carved central stem  and leaf shaped carving down to the lower corners, similar to the table lamps. Superb condition, dark fumed from new  with lovely rich colour  with very well executed mice carved to  a facet on the stem of each candlestick. Baize lined, probably a fairly recent addition.
