Circa 1960s

An excellent example of the kidney shaped oak Serving Tray from the workshops of Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson in Kilburn. Carved from a single plank of oak with adzed centre and two trademark mice forming the handles. Excellent condition and deeper fumed from new with a wonderful golden brown colour which highlights the  naturally lighter medullary ray graining in the quarter sawn oak.

Circa 1950s/early 60s

A superb example of a Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson Oak Stool with a traditional woven leather seat. Of typical rectangular form with four carved legs joined by stretchers and a trademark mouse carved to a facet of one leg. Medium fumed from new it presents in excellent condition with a rich and nicely aged colour and patina. Circa late 50s/1960s

A superb and rare bespoke made 3’11” Burr Oak refectory style Coffee Table by Robert ‘Mouseman Thompson. The adzed top handcrafted from a single piece of solid burr oak, standing on two octagonally carved baluster legs, joined by a lower stretcher, signature carved mouse to one leg.

Superb condition and rich warm colour.

Circa 1950s

A superb example of an earlier made Panel Back Chair from the Kilburn workshops of Robert Thompson. Of typical form with adzed panelling to the chair back, it’s earlier manufacturer denoted by the positioning of the lower rush rail between the front legs. In the late 50s this was moved further back.  

The chair presents in superb condition with a rich warm medium oak colour having been professionally re-leathered and refurbished in the recent past.

Ideal for use with the Bureau, Dressing Table /Desk or as a Side Chair.

An excellent example of the very popular 3′ x 3′ Robert Mouseman Thompson Oak Chest of Drawers featuring 2 short over 3 long graduated drawers. Panelled sides and rear, the adzed top with a rear upstand. Professionally cleaned and refurbished in the recent past it presents in excellent structural condition with a  wonderful rich warm medium oak colour.

Circa 1960s

A wonderful example of an earlier made Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson 3′ Oak Bureau  with adzing to the top, drawers and framework. The fold down top rests on two pull out lopers, each carved with a trademark mouse, opening to reveal a writing/work  desk with numerous storage compartments. Below are 2 short over 2 long storage drawers, the whole piece standing on  four carved feet.

Purchased by the previous owners  from Robert Thompson’s as a ‘classic piece’, it presents in lovely clean condition and a warm medium oak colour. There’s just the tiniest of chips to the inside upper edge of the pull down top, shown in the image gallery below.

The original key is no longer present, although new locks and matched keys can be purchased if required.

Great value, they are £ 7,180 to purchase new and are now only adzed to the top.

A superb example of a 3’6″ wide Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson Oak Serving Table of rectangular form with two drawers, standing on four octagonally carved legs, joined by  a full lower shelf. Earlier made as denoted by the adzing to the top, sides, drawers and lower shelf. Later made examples are only adzed to the top.

Excellent condition and ageing medium fumed colour, cleaned of minor ring staining to the top shelf  and clear re-waxed in our workshop.

Circa late 1940s/50s

A superb example of an early Mouseman Book Trough, extensively adzed to all visible surfaces including the rear. The amount of adzing has been reduced over the years and since the late 70s only the quadrant sides have been adzed. Presents in excellent condition with a wonderful patina  and warm aged colour tones.  It also features an upwards facing carved  mouse which is rarer to find on these book troughs as they are harder to carve against the grain.
