A superb matching set of 6 early made Napkin Rings from Robert Thompson’s of Kilburn which are characterised by their notably smaller size, at approx 4cm, than their more modern 5cm/ 2″ counterpart.
Excellent condition and rich natural colour with no damge or repairs and particularly finely detailed carved mice.

A superb matched pair of modern 3′ Robert Mouseman Thompson Headboards sized to fit all single divan bases. Panelled all over with penny moulded tops and mice carved to alternate upper side edges.
Presented in mint waxed condition, privately sourced with no stains or damage. Current new price £ 860, making these excellent value.

Circa 1970s
A rare to the market set of 6 handcrafted oak napkin rings made by Derek Slater ‘Lizardman’. Of octagonal form and 1 1/2 ” in length, the same as early Mouseman napkin rings. In lovely clean and stain free condition with a deep medium colour. Derek didn’t mark these napkin rings with his trademark fish or lizard carved signatures but they were commissioned at the same time as the bespoke made 6′ display shelf (DS1224) and nest of tables (DS1225) also acquired from the same private vendor whose mother owned them from new.

An unusual 9 3/4″ shallow oak fruitbowl with a carvd and rolled upper edge from the workshop of ex mouseman craftsman Peter ‘rabbitman’ Heap of Wetwang, near Driffield. Well grained with a medium colour and a rabbit signature incised into the base of the bowl.Very minor staining to the bowl.

An excellent 3′ refectory style coffee table from ex mouseman craftsman Albert ‘Eagleman’ Jeffray of Sessay, near Thirsk. The adzed two plank top standing on two turned and carved legs and sledge feet, joined by a central stretcher.
Privately acquired and presents in excellent condition, free from any stains or damage, with a waxed rich medium oak colour.

A superb example of the highly sought after earlier made 4′ bookcase which features adzing to the front framework, sides and upper shelf. To cut production costs all adzing ceased on bookcases in the mid/late 70s, except by special commission. Four adjustable shelves and a well executed mouse carved prominently in high relief to the left top front of the bookcase. Excellent condition and colour.

An excellent example of the popular Nest of Tables made by ex mouseman craftsman Peter ‘ Rabbitman’ Heap. Of typical rectangular form with adzed tops, supported on four carved legs joined by stretchers. Peter’s trademark carved rabbit to each front right leg.
Cleaned and clear waxed it presents with a natural rich medium oak colour.

A wonderfully presented 2’6″ long early solid oak refectory style coffee table from ex mouseman craftsman Wilf Hutchinson who established Squirrel Woodcarvers in 1957 in Husthwaite near Thirk. The adzed single plank top with fine graining and figuring is supported on two octagonally carved legs and feet joined a central adzed stretcher. Wilf’s distinctive squirrel signature is carved in relief to one of the feet. Excellent condition and colour with minor evidence of an older professional repair to a small split in the side edge of the top which is shown in the image gallery below.

Adzed all over with a leaded and glazed upper display cupboard with 2 removeable wooden shelves. The lower section features a carved tudor/yorkshire rose and a panelled cupboard with 1 removable shelf. Marked in typical fashion with Thomas Whittakers trademark gnome carving. Wrought iron fittings.

A bespoke commissioned 3’4″ Kneehole Dressing Table with full width Mirror from the mouseman trained craftsman Peter ‘Rabbitman’ Heap. Adzed and panelled all round the dressing table features a bank of 3 graduated drawers to the left side. The adzed tilting mirror is detachable and features decorative moulding to the lower edge.
Cleaned and rewaxed it presents in excellent condition and colour, privately acquired with original order/invoice together with other Rabbitman and Gnomeman pieces.
