Circa 1960s

An unusual 3’9″(w) x 4’10″(h) Sid Pollard Glazed Display Cabinet / Dresser, demonstrating mouseman trained Sid’s craftsmanship at its very best. Solid oak panelled throughout, with traditional wrought iron fitting and extensively adzed to all visible surfaces, the upper section features  two leaded and glazed doors with a fitted shelf within. Below are two drawers and two cupboards, each with fitted inner shelves, standing on octagonally carved feet.  Of modest proportions that make it a highly usable piece in all homes, large or small, it  is of unitary construction, so it is heavy, ideally needing two to move  it around.

It’s been carefully used all its life and presents in excellent condition with no  exterior stains, damage or repairs, just the normal light glass ring marks on some lower inner shelves.  A fresh coat of clear wax has really accentuated the rich and ageing original medium fume. Privately acquired locally from the original owners family.
