Circa 1980s

Known originally and still sold  new by Robert Thompson’s as a ‘Smoking Chair’, albeit in a different size, these cow hide slung and hide cushioned chairs are wonderfully comfortable to lounge and relax in.

This example presents in wonderful original condition and is in the earlier made height of 102 cm, they are now 112cm. Mouseman collectors will appreciate that the hide used  on the back is a very thick untreated aniline hide which does mark easily and deepen in colour with age. The hide cushion is also in very good original and useable condition with no major stains, tears or loose stitching. One side in particular looks to have hardly ever been used. Both have been photographed in the enclosed image gallery. A signature mouse  is carved prominently to the front leg. The wooden frame has been cleaned and wax polished, the cow hide cleaned and conditioned in our workshop.
