An excellent example of the solid oak Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson freestanding table / chest top mirror. Features a rectangular framed mirror with half penny moulded frieze along the top pivoting between twin carved posts supported on feet and a stretcher. A trademark mouse is carved in high relief to the foot.
A superbly coloured and patinated example of the rare to market earlier made Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson oak bedside bookcase / cabinet. Unlike more modern made examples it is adzed to the sides as well as the top with a very finely carved mouse with front paws incised into the lower side panel. Two adjustable shelves with a full compliment of shelf supports. Wonderful condition and deep rich colour. There is a natural age related shrinkage split to the single plank back panel, although it does not extend the whole length of the panel. Shown in the image gallery below.
A wonderful example of the solid oak Cheeseboard from Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson with a a particularly striking colour and graining in the oak and excellent mouse carving to the handle. Some evidence of light usage as originally intended. Recently clear wax finished.
A superb 3′ solid oak writing bureau by the ex Mouseman craftsman Peter ‘Rabbitman’ Heap of Wetwang, East Yorkshire who set up Oak Rabbit Crafts in 1970.
Of rectangular form the top with pegged and cleated ends. A lockable fall front, with original key, opens to rest on two pull out lopers and reveals a writing desk and numerous storage compartments. Below are two short over 2 long drawers with ample space to store all manner of household items, all wonderfully clean internally. Pegged and panelled construction throughout and a superb medium fumed colour with no evidence of staining. Peter’s signature rabbit is carved in high relief to the front right canted corner edge. Cleaned and wax polished in our workshop.
Sourced from the original owners family, available to the new owner with the original invoice which shows it cost £ 2016.99 in April 1992, the equivalent of £ 5,150 today. For information, the current price for the ‘Mouseman’ item which is of similar size and construction is £ 8,400, making it particularly good value.

An excellent pair of bespoke commissioned solid oak adzed and tooled bookends by Robert Mouseman Thompson. Carved initials for the original owners and carved year date. A superb mouse carved in low relief discretely to the side of one bookend.
Excellent colour and condition, just one minor chip to the dot between the R and M initial, shown in the image gallery attached but barely noticeable at all.

An excellent example of the highly popular solid oak Robert Mouseman Thompson Nest of Three Tables. Of typical rectangular form each graduated table with adzed tops supported on four octagonally acrved legs, joined by stretchers. Excellent detailed mice carvings to a facet of the leg on each table.
Excellent medium fumed condition to all the tables, the tops retaining their original factory applied polyurathane finish with new clear wax applied on top, the lower legs cleaned and re-waxed in clear wax.

An excellent example of the highly popular 10″ solid oak Table Lamp from Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson. Of typical form with square base, octagonally carved and tooled tapering central stem with carved leaf forms to lower corners and a nicely detailed mouse carved to one facet. Newly rewired with our favourite period braided three core earthed wiring and a new BC22 bayonet antique brass bulb holder . Excellent condition and rich fumed and waxed colour.
A rare walnut bookcase from the ex mouseman craftsman Peter ‘Dolphinman’ Daynes of Balk near Thirsk. High quality construction, of tall slender design with four adjustable shelves, fielded panelled sides and pegged joints throughout. His signature dolphin is carved prominently to the top centre rail.
Excellent condition and rich colour which highlights the graining of the walnut.
An extremely rare (the only one we’ve seen come to market) solid oak ashtray by Herbert ‘Kingfisherman’ Bird who had a workshop and saleroom in the Shambles, York. Unused display piece, his signature kingfisfer carved in high relief.
Superb condition and rich darker fumed colour.

A rare and beautiful example of a solid oak octagonally carved small bowl by ex mouseman craftsman Colin ‘Beaverman’ Almack, made in the 1960s, shortly after he established Beaver Furniture. Excellent early beaver signature to one facet of the pentagon shaped outer sides.
Excellent condition and colour, original unfilled lathe attachment holes to the base.
An excellent example of the earlier made Book Trough from the Kilburn workshops of Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson. Adzed to the sides and book ledge, whereas mid/late 70s onwards book troughs have only been adzed to the outer sides. Cleaned and re-waxed in our workshop it presents in superb condition with a rich medium fumed oak colour, with no losses or repairs.
Privately bought from the original owners who had a large collection of Mouseman pieces dating from the 1930s through to the 1970s.
