Circa 1970s

A superb adzed oak framed fire screen inset behind a glazed front with a floral wool tapestry. Cut-outs front and rear for carrying, boarded back, standing on carved feet with Derek’s early signature fish carved prominently to the front lower frame.

Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshop with new safety glass front panel to protect the tapestry.

Derek trained and worked at Acorn Industries before setting up on his own in Crayke, near Easingwold. His early solo work bears the fish signature, his later work a lizard.
