Stock ref: DS1202
Circa 1960s / early 70s
Unusual and superbly executed pin dish by the original Foxman – Don Craven. Beautifully grained quater sawn oak, subtly adzed and of considerably larger size than a Mouseman pin dish, it features a superbly detailed seated fox. No damage or staining
it is in pristine condition and a rich aged honey colour, only ever a display piece. Don’s solo work is often confused with Malcolm Foxman Pipes but his work pre-dates Malcolm’s and, were space permits, always features a fully carved
seated fox with a bushy tail. Malcolm took on the fox signature in 1981 and usually carves a foxes face in high or low relief.
