Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson, Oak Nest of Three Tables

Stock ref: DS1211

Circa 1960

A rare find, an older  Mouseman nests of tables in genuinly excellent original condition. More often than not heavy usage leads to  considerable staining and scratching particularly to the tops and lower legs which is impossible to remove fully without destroying the natural colour and patina of the wood. Privately acquired locally, part of a deceased estate, it is known to have been in the same original ownership since about 1960.  Careful usage and regular waxing have ensured that there's a wonderful deep and consistent warm honey colour on all three tables and hardly any marking or staining anywhere on it, save for a little light splashing behind the front leg on the largest table. Mice are carved in high relief to the front right on the two largest nests, to the left on the smallest table.
