Sid Pollard Adzed Yorkshire Oak Glazed Display Cabinet

A superb 3' 7 1/2" wide x 5' 10"  tall  glazed oak display cabinet by Sid Pollard with 5 removable glass shelves over a panelled 2  door cupboard with internal wooden shelving and traditional wrought iron fittings. It is a very high quality piece  of craftsmanship, every individual panel, both front and rear, is extensively adzed and  each glass pane is individually fitted. It has been exceptionally well looked after all its liife and is as clean and well presented  internally as externally.

Sid Pollard lived in Bagby, near Thirsk, and was one of Robert Thompson's early apprentices. His solo work is almost always unmarked, preferring to let his craftsmanship speak for itself. After leaving Thompson's he combined his solo work with the family building firm, Pollard Builders. His solo work dates from the 40's through to his death in the 80's.
