Robert Thompson ‘Mouseman’ 5’ Oak Sideboard

Stock ref: DS1462

Circa 1980

A superb example of the larger 3' high x 5' wide Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson Sideboard. No longer a standard stock sideboard configuration, this design harks back to the 1950s and earlier. The nearest stock item produced to the same overall size today is the 5' Welsh Dresser Base (£ 7,300 new).

The sideboard features a rectangular hand adzed top with an upstand to the rear, above two short and three long graduated drawers, the top two baize lined and compartmentalised for cutlery. Flanked on both sides by two full height panelled cupboards,  each with two fixed inner shelves  and traditional wrought iron fittings. Panelled to the sides and rear, standing on carved octagonal feet,  with a trademark mouse carved in high relief to the left canted corner.

Exceptional condition and medium fumed golden colour. Competitively priced.

Size: 152.5(w) x 49(d) x 94(h)cm
