Circa late 40s / 50s
Beatifully aged and patinated solid English oak sideboard, in a size suited to rooms of modest size, from the workshops of Kingpost Woodwork who traded until the late 50s in the Harrogate district. Rectangular form with a fox tongue jointed three
plank top with two drawers over two shelved cupboards, wrought iron fittings and a tongue and grooved back panel. It features extensive adzing and exposed dowel pinning to the top, legs, individual side and front inlaid panels and drawer
fronts, all features usually associated with the eariest period of Mouseman craftsmanship. The trademark Kingpost roof beam signature is carved in relief onto an upper side panel.
It presents in wonderful condition with a lovely depth of colour and aged patina. The top is in super condition just the expected slight scatching and very feint traces of old markings, barely discernible in the images below. The right hand drawer
has previously been partitioned but these have been removed leaving the small original screw holes in the drawer base. The interior is very clean having always been protected with lining paper.
