An excellent dining set from ex mouseman craftsman Malcolm Pipes comprising a 4’10” dropleaf gateleg dining table and a set of 4 panel backed dining chairs, each piece carved with malcolm’s trademark foxes face. The table top and legs are adzed and in superb condition with no water or other staining to the top and just one very minor surface scratch. The chairs feature subtly adzed panelled backed each carved with a tudor rose and adzed front legs with exceptuonally clean corded fabric seat tops in a neutral colour that will suit any roomset.
This is just one piece from a large collection of Foxman pieces acquired privately from the estate of a lady who corresponded regularly with Malcolm and his mother up to the time of her recent death. All the pieces have been lovingly cherished from new and are in immaculate condition.
A carver dining chair from the same original ownership is also available separately, if required, covered in green leather hide. (see stock ref: DS1364)
Size: Table – 148(l) x 99(w) x 74.5(h) cm
Chairs – 44(w) x 44.5(d) x 83.5(h) cm
These gateleg tables were and remain as expensive to buy new as the refectory style tables and currently represent great value on the vintage market. This whole set inclusive of the 4 chairs is on offer for considerably less than the current price you would pay for a new gateleg table.
