An excellent refurbished solid oak Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson Dining Set, comprising a 5′ refectory style adzed table with 6 of Robert’s favorite adzed Panel Back Dining Chairs with their original butterscotch leather hide upholstery.

The table features a  4 plank adzed top supported on two octagonally carved baluster legs with sledge feet, joined by an adzed floor set stretcher. A signature mouse is carved in high relief on one of the legs. The partially worn original polyurathane finished top has been fully chemically stripped and re-applied with  multiple spay coats of the original clear satin polyurathane finish used, to give a stain and heat resistant finish. Finally finished with clear wax to the top, legs and feet. Presents in excellent condition with wonderful medullary ray graining visible in the oak.

The chairs are all structurally solid and the frames have been cleaned of the usual stains, grime and spalshes, and re-waxed. They are a matched set, all six chairs made by the same craftsman as denoted by the same mouse carving to each chair. There’s a small wood chip to the lower leg of one  and a hairline around a dowel joint on one back panel, both of which we’ve photographed in the image gallery below. All chairs present with their original butterscotch hide which has been cleaned and conditioned and good solid underfoams.

Privately acquired from the original owners family in North Yorkshire, together with a number of other items of Mouseman and Acornman furniture.

We have a preference to keep the table and chairs together as a set, but will also consider selling the table and six chairs separately.
