Circa 1930s/early 40s

A superbly crafted early 4’6″ solid oak Double Bed by Robert Mouseman Thompson. Solidly constructed  headboard and footboard from thick cut timbers, fully adzed all over with beautifully aged color and patina.  Wooden adzed side rails with modern slatted base, handcrafted and  signed / dated in pencil to 1985.  Superbly carved early high backed mouse carved to one of the finials. The earlier and originally supplied thick cut side frames  with iron ends are also included (not photographed) should the new owners wish to use them with another form of mattress base.

Size: 144(w) x 130(h)cm headboard.
