Mouseman Robert Thompson Early Oak Fruitbowl 1930s

Stock ref: DS2846

Circa 1930s

An excellent example of the sought after early 9 3/4″ solid oak Fruitbowl by Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson of Kilburn. Adzed and tooled inside and out, this example with a particularly thick rim which will help to avoid any natural wood splitting. A fine early mouse carving to the outside of the bowl.

Excellent condition with a rich darker fumed colour, minimal staining to the inner bowl from fruit acids reacting with the tannins in the oak.

Size: 24.5(dia) x 8(h)cm

Stolen from our Preston Antique Centre showroom cabinet. CCTV analysis indicates the theft took place at 2.50pm Monday 14th August with the thief clearly shown on camera as he left the scene. The police have been notified.
