Circa late 1940’s / 50’s

Sought after early bowl with a detailed, high backed trademark mouse carved to the outer side of the bowl. Handcrafted and tooled to the inside and outside. Medium fumed, the wood has now aged and matured to a wonderful mellow nutty brown colour, highlighting
the tooling and graining of the wood. Presented in superb waxed condition with no evidence of damage or repair. Careful usage over the years has ensured the bowl has only light staining which occurs in normal usage by the fruit acids reacting with the
tannins in the wood.

Production of bowls with the mouse on the outside ceased in the late 50’s.
