Circa early 1960s
A wonderfully patinated example of the popular 12″ Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson oak Fruitbowl, this piece made soon after the introduction of this design in about 1960. Features a wonderfully large high backed mouse carving in the centre of the bowl which is tooled / adzed to the inner and outer walls of the bowl.
Excellent colour and patina, just a darker mark in the wood on one area of the rim where it looks as though a previous owner has attempted to rub the mark out resulting in a little thinning of the wood, but no cracking or other losses.
