Stock ref: DS1954
Circa 1960s/1970s
An excellent example of a 6 ” shallow oak bowl from Robert Mouseman Thompson. These pieces were sold originally as Pipe Bowls, the raised centre section would have been used for knocking the ash out of pipes. Pipes are no longer fashionable and these bowls have not been made for many years, replaced instead by the 6″ nut dish. Good examples are now keenly sought after by collectors as they are rare to market but remain very useful and decorative bowls. Adzed exterior, smooth turned interior with a trademark mouse carved on the outer side.
Excellent condition and colour, no evidence of use for pipe ash.
Size: 15(dia) x 3.5(h)cm
