Stock ref: DS1052
Circa 1930
Eagerly sought after by collectors, very early Mouseman bowls just don’t come any better than this.
Deeper than most early (and modern !) bowls at 3” and hand tooled to the inside and outside. A characteristically early and beautifully carved large, high backed mouse, with slim neck and prominent head to the outer side of the bowl. Clearly lovingly
cared for, the wood has developed a stunning deep chestnut brown patina. The wood colour is the combined result of original fuming with ammonia, maturation of the oak, regular waxing and natural usage. No damage or evidence of any repair.
Production of fruit bowls with the mouse on the outer side continued until the late 1950’s
Size: 24.5 (dia incl mouse) x 7.5(h) cm
