A rare bespoke made solid oak Bookcase with sliding doors from the Kilburn workshop of Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson. 4’6″ wide and 3’2″ tall with very thick and heavy 4.3mm sides and top. Adzed to all visible surfaces including the panels on the sliding doors, from the late 70s onwards bookcases have not been adzed at all. Two adjustable shelves internally and a panelled rear with a detailed incised mouse carved to the lower left side panel. The sliding doors glide on plastic tracks pinned to the top and bottom, both could be removed if clients wanted the bookcase to be open fronted.
Photographed in original medium fumed ‘as purchased’ condition it is structurally sound and usable, with minor expected staining the top and sides. We can supply the item as it is or will be happy to clean and re-wax the piece for clients, pricing accordingly.
