By a totally unexpected coincidence we have been extremely lucky to have just been able to purchase a surviving example of the original design of this piece, made by Robert in the 1920s, sourced from the Kingfield House, Cumbria estate of James Thompson-Schwab. His parents were one of Robert Thompson’s very early domestic furniture clients and commissioned a significant number of pieces, several of which we have been fortunate to acquire. Photographed side by side in the image gallery below some subtle differences can be seen in the two pieces, their manufacture separated by approximately 90 years of Mouseman furniture making history. Please contact us for further details of the original piece.
