Circa early 1930s
A superb and rare to find early burr oak panelled coffer / storage box by Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson. Of rectangular form, adzed all over, 4’6″ wide with 8 inset burr panels on the front and two on each side. The top is cut from a single planl of adzed solid oak. Early wrought iron fittings with the early square headed screws…. cross head screws not being available until 1936/37.
Beautiful external condition with rich darker fumed colour and patina, clean interior. Single family owned from new.
