A rare to market very early Robert Mouseman Thompson Oak Standard Lamp featuring an adzed octagonal facetted and stepped base supporting an octagonal adzed central column with carved decorative detail to the top, the detail the same as found on early table lamps. At 4′ tall it’s 6″ shorter than later made pieces and has a considerably thicker central column. The trademark mouse is also carved prominently to the lower section of the centre column, later made examples feature it to the first or second tier of the stepped base depending on age.
Excellent waxed condition with a rich depth of fumed and aged colour. It presents in excellent ready to use condition with modern 3 core wiring, brass bulb holder and 3 amp fused plug.
